Environment and Fisheries Applied Research Department

The Environment and Fisheries Applied Research Department conducts research and develops strategies  necessary for the sustainable use of fisheries resources. This is done in a comprehensive manner while monitoring environmental changes in coastal and inland water areas. The department executes research activities encompassing fisheries engineering, coastal and inland water ecosystems, environment preservation, and the safety and health functions of fishery products. Based on basic engineering, biology, chemistry, and ecology, the department uses artificial intelligence (AI) and other advanced technologies to conduct research and develop utilization and processing techniques and technologies for realizing decarbonization and Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

The Environment and Fisheries Applied Research Department comprises the following research divisions.
